RoughRiders Return Home for 2 Games This Weekend; Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 Car, Food Drive on Saturday

<P>March 8, 2005- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders return home for a pair of games this weekend. The Riders will host the Sioux Falls Stampede Friday night and the Sioux City Musketeers Saturday evening. Both games face off at 7:05PM.</P> <P>This weekend's games are the Riders' first home contests this month. The Riders play their fourth straight road game tomorrow night against the Chicago Steel in Bensenville, Illinois. </P> <P>When the Riders do return to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena this weekend, not all the excitement will be on the ice.</P> <P>The arrival of the Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 GM Goodwrench Chevy Monte Carlo Saturday night is among the highlights of the weekend. Fans will be able to get up close with the #3 car from 6:00PM through the end of the second period of the Riders' game against the Sioux City Musketeers. Season ticket holders will have exclusive access to the #3 car from 5:15 to 6:00PM. </P> <P>Earnhardt, who died in a final lap crash at the 2001 Daytona 500, won seven NASCAR championships and a total of 76 races over the course of a 27 year career. His son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., is currently one of NASCAR's top drivers.</P> <P>Also Saturday night, the Riders and Cedar Rapids Jaycees will host their final food drive of the season. The Riders and the Jaycees have teamed up for monthly food drives throughout the season to benefit the HACAP Food Reservoir. The Jaycees have collected canned food items at the RoughRiders' first Saturday home game of each month. RoughRiders fans have donated approximately 1,800 pounds of food this season.</P> <P>The Cedar Rapids chapter of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) is a community-based leadership training organization for men and women age 21-39. HACAP- Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, Inc.- is celebrating its thirty-eighth year of providing services to eliminate the causes of poverty in Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington counties. </P> <P>This Friday's game between the RoughRiders and Stampede is a Family Pack Night. The Family Pack enables fans to purchase four green zone seats, four hot dogs, four fountain drinks and a game program all for just $44. The Family Pack is available for all of the RoughRiders' Friday and Sunday home games. </P> <P>The Riders (36-9-5, 77 points) are in first place overall in the United States Hockey League and have already clinched the USHL's East Division, the first division title in team history. The Riders have won five straight games entering tomorrow night's contest in Chicago. The Riders have already tied the league record for most road wins (20) in a season, and would break that record with a win over the Steel tomorrow evening.</P> <P>Tickets for this weekend's games and all remaining Rider regular season home dates are now on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or in person at the ice arena. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $8.00 to $17.00 including a 50-cent facility fee. </P>
