The RoughRiders enter the Clark Cup playoffs on the heels of their second straight East Division title. The Riders finished tied for first in the division with the Des Moines Buccaneers. The Riders earned the top seed in the east for the post-season by virtue of having won their regular season series with Des Moines. As a result, the Riders have home ice advantage for the first and- should they advance- second round of the playoffs.

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders’ seventh annual year-end banquet will be moved to 11:00AM next Monday if the RoughRiders are matched up with the Indiana Ice in the first round of the United States Hockey League’s Clark Cup playoffs. The banquet was originally scheduled for 6:00PM next Monday.

The RoughRiders went 1-1-1 last week. The Riders defeated the Indiana Ice 4-2 last Tuesday in Indianapolis. Last Friday the Riders earned one point for a 2-1 shootout loss to Tri-City, a defeat that ended the Riders’ four game winning streak. The Riders suffered a 4-3 loss to Lincoln last Saturday, a defeat that ended the Riders’ five game unbeaten streak.

The RoughRiders went 1-2 last week, winning 5-2 in Chicago last Wednesday before dropping back to back decisions in Waterloo (by a score of 6-3) last Saturday and in Sioux Falls yesterday (4-1). The Riders had won three straight games and gone unbeaten in regulation over five contests (4-0-1) before last weekend’s losses.
