The RoughRiders approach the final weekend of the regular season tied for first place overall in the United States Hockey League with the Omaha Lancers. The Riders entered last week four points ahead of the Lancers but lost 3-2 to the Sioux City Musketeers 3-2 Friday night and to the Tri-City Storm 4-2 Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Lancers picked up wins over the Sioux Falls Stampede and Lincoln Stars last week to pull even with the Riders.

RoughRiders to Open Playoffs with Home Games April 8 and 9

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will open the 2005 United States Hockey League Clark Cup playoffs with home games on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9, the RoughRiders announced today. Both game one and game two of the Riders’ first round series will face off at 7:05PM. First round playoff tickets are currently on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office (261-4625).
