The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders’ Jeff Costello and Paul Phillips were selected in the National Hockey League Entry Draft today as were RoughRider alumnus Chris Wideman and incoming Rider Mac Bennett.

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have traded forward Cody Murphy to the Tri-City Storm in exchange for a fourth round choice in the 2010 United States Hockey League Entry Draft, the RoughRiders announce today.

6/16/09: Rider Alums Donovan, Wideman to Bid for U.S. Junior Berths; Duo Invited to Junior Evaluation Camp, Carlson to Coach at Camp

Cedar Rapids RoughRiders alumni Matt Donovan and Chris Wideman- both defensemen- will compete for spots on the United States National Junior Team at the 2009 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, New York, from August 7 through August 15, while RoughRiders Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson will serve as one of the coaches at the camp.

The United States Hockey League announced today it has approved the sale of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders from Mercantile Capital Partners I.L.P. to Newco Riders, LLC.
